Virtual Health Update
The NIH Clinical Center will be fully launching a new component of our virtual health platform. This new component supports sending automated appointment reminders through text and email messages. You may recall receiving a message in April regarding implementation with a select group of clinics. We are pleased to let you know that the process gone extremely well and we are now moving forward with full implementation in all of our outpatient care areas. Patients with scheduled appointments will begin to receive automated appointment reminders beginning the week of June 24, 2024 via text message and/or email. Reminders will be sent 7 days prior, 2 days prior and, finally, at 30 minutes prior to scheduled appointments. The final reminder will include a link that may be used to virtually check in for your appointment. This platform also enables staff to alert patients when care providers are ready to see them as well as about any delays that their care team may be experiencing. Patients may choose to wait in the patient care area waiting room or in other areas within the hospital of their choosing.
Please be sure to follow any instructions or guidance shared with you from your care team related to this appointment.
