Dr. Wang served in CCMD as a Visiting Fogarty Fellow from 1994 to 1999, returned as a Biologist in 2002, and was appointed to Staff Scientist in 2007. From 1999 to 2002, he worked at The Institute for Genomics Research (TIGR) as a staff scientist under Dr. John Quackenbush. In early 2002, CCMD began to establish the Functional Genomic Facility, Dr. Wang was recruited to help run the program.

Dr. Wang is currently a Staff Scientist in the Critical Care Medicine Department at the NIH Clinical Center. He serves as Editor for the journal Frontiers in Medicine, Medicinal Chemistry, and Endocrine, Metabolic & Immune Disorders - Drug Targets.

Dr. Wang’s early research interests include nitric oxide regulation of gene transcription, stress kinases regulation of mRNA stability, and transcriptome data analysis. Over the past several years, Dr. Wang has focused on molecular mechanisms by which nuclear receptors and genetic mutations regulate inflammation and vascular remodeling in diabetes, atherosclerosis, and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
