Lula (Lou) Russell
Biosketch
Lula (Lou) Russell has 30 years of hospital administrative experience.
She joined the Rehabilitation Medicine Department (RMD), NIH Clinical Center, as an Assistant to both the Deputy Chief and the Administrative Officer (AO) of the RMD in 1991. She worked closely with the AO in the RMD and under her tutelage Lou became the AO for the department in 1997 a position she held for 15 years.
In 2012, she was promoted to the position of Senior Administrative Officer in the Office of Administrative Management (OAM) where she became supervisor to (8) Administrative Officers and (1) Administrative Technician that provided services to 7 clinical departments. In 2018, she was promoted to the position of Deputy Chief, OAM, and she served in that capacity until February 2020 when she was promoted to the position of Chief of the Office of Administrative Management.
In her current position as Chief of the Office of Administrative Management she is responsible for a department of 41.5 FTEs, which consists of a Deputy Chief, (4) Senior Administrative Officers, 35 Administrative Officers and 1 Administrative Technician. She has served on many Trans-NIH Committees and Clinical Center wide projects. She enjoys working with and training new hospital AOs and ATs always wanting to help others with their professional growth.
